Frequently Asked Questions

To answer some of your questions that are asked frequently about the Eastern Orthodox Church I have included the following four with an answer that I hope will help you.

How long are the services? Sunday Divine Liturgy lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes. There are Sundays when we offer special prayers for our dearly departed and there are Sundays when we have a special service for a specific feast day. Those will normally take about 10 more minutes. Every Sunday Divine Liturgy is followed by a Coffee Fellowship in our Church hall. This is an opportunity for our worshipers and guests to enjoy some good coffee, pastries and Christian fellowship.

Are the services Live Streamed over the Internet?  Currently the Sunday Divine Liturgies are live streamed starting at 9:50.  You can view them by clicking the button on the main page that takes you to our YouTube page where you can find all the services including the current Live Stream.

Is there a dress code? There is no formal dress code for attending services. We do keep in mind that we are in the house of the Lord and we leave it up to everyone to dress accordingly.

Can non-Orthodox receive the Holy (Communion) Eucharist? Because the Orthodox Church celebrates the Holy Eucharist as the divine mystery of Christ’s real presence, it is reserved for those members of the Orthodox Church who have prepared to receive. However, all non- Orthodox visitors are more than welcome to participate in the worship of the church.

Are there childcare services provided? As mentioned we do have a Sunday School program for young people from the 3rd grade through high school. Those younger than the 3rd grade worship with their families.

We hope to see in Church. Thank you and God Bless!!! frleo
